Richard Prince is not that funny. As a joker myself, my curiosity called when I saw he was putting other people's jokes on a canvas and selling them for piles of money. But he takes appropriation to levels so high, the scale has exploded. While I found the Nurse series darkly amusing, I was so horrified with his Willem DeKooning "collaborations" that I can't seem to find a place to put Prince. For now, I'm placing him in the back of an empty comedy club in Hollywood and telling him to order something from Fat Burger. Maybe then he'll take himself a little less seriously? I bet he's friends with similar "pull the rug out from under you" artist Wolfgang Tillmans. Yikes.
