Image Inspiration -- Early Rothko
"Study for Antigone," early 1940's, watercolor on paper
The ambiguous forms, blended with the free-flowing medium of watercolor, make me crazy. Also the fact that Rothko made nearly 3,000 works on paper and we hardly ever see them blows my mind. So beautiful.
